Festival Foodie: SXSW 2016 Eats

Posted on March 24, 2016March 25, 2016 by Jacklyn Citero

Gourdough’s Ron Burgundy Donut Burger
Festival Foodie Rating: forkforkforkfork

Angus beef burger, bacon, fired egg, two slices of American cheese, cilantro, guacamole, sliced tomato, and mayonnaise…it tastes as insane as it sounds. At first it seems like an overwhelming combination of toppings for a burger set between two golden glowing donuts. This is definitely not a burger you eat with your hands so grab a fork and knife, and a pile of napkins. Gourdough’s and the Ron Burgundy get a four (4) Festival Foodie Fork Ranking due to the limited menu offered, it is SXSW so we do understand, the cheese could have been a tad more melted, and we feel the donut bun could have been a little less grease-logged. Overall, this burger was an explosion for the tastebuds and absolutely worth the caloric intake.
