The Flaming Lips cover an entire Beatles album

Posted on October 22, 2014October 24, 2014 by DeShonna Johnson

One of the greatest albums of all time has received a makeover, my friends.

Sunday evening, NPR released the first listen of rock band, The Flaming Lips, new album With a Little Help from My Fwends. The album is the bands chopped and screwed rendition of The Beatles’ entire hit record Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band.

The album features a variety of artists from Foxygen to Tegan & Sara and Wayne Coyne’s PIC, Miley Cyrus, who appears on “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.”

Despite the artistic craft that the band threw into the project, none of the proceeds from the album will go to them. In fact, proceeds will go to The Bella Foundation, an organization devoted to providing veterinary care to pet owners in need.

With a Little Help from My Fwends  officially comes out Oct. 28 but you can catch all 51 minutes and 24 seconds of the masterpiece here.
